Job Description

Full description from the employer, as published by JobTech.

About our client

Our client, who is a global and world leading company within their domain, strongly believes in the long-term sustainability of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology. This technology facilitates energy transfer with direct current at high voltages, making it suitable for transmitting energy over long distances and connecting electricity networks with minimal losses. In addition to energy transfer, HVDC technology addresses electricity quality issues and contributes to the stabilization of connected power grids. For offshore wind power or long-distance underwater transmissions, direct current is the most realistic energy transmission alternative.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Tender Engineer to join our client's HVDC organization in Ludvika. In this role, you will play an important part in developing competitive technical proposals for complex HVDC and power transmission projects, contributing to the development and modernization of power grids worldwide.

As a Tender Engineer, you will be part of a dedicated tendering team of approximately ten colleagues, working closely with engineering, project management, supply chain and commercial functions. Your main focus will be to analyze customer requirements, evaluate technical solutions and prepare accurate and competitive tenders that meet both technical and commercial expectations.

The role combines technical expertise with coordination, problem-solving and communication. You will work in an international environment where English is the primary working language, while being based on-site in Ludvika alongside your team.

Key responsibilities
  • Review customer specifications and technical requirements to prepare accurate and competitive tenders

  • Develop technical proposals and quotations for HVDC and power transmission projects

  • Evaluate technical solutions and identify potential risks and opportunities

  • Collaborate with engineering, project management and commercial teams throughout the tendering process

  • Provide technical input for cost estimates, project planning and proposals

  • Prepare and review technical documentation for tenders

  • Participate in technical discussions with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders

Who are you?

We are looking for a technically skilled and self-driven engineer who enjoys combining analytical work with collaboration and communication. You have a solid background in electrical engineering, power systems or a related technical field, and feel confident interpreting technical specifications and translating complex requirements into practical solutions.

To succeed in this role, you are structured, analytical and comfortable taking ownership of your work. You have a proactive mindset, strong communication skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues across different disciplines in an international environment.

We are looking for someone who has:
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a Tender Engineer or in a similar role, with proven hands-on experience in technical tendering and proposal development

  • A technical educational background, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

  • Good understanding of electrical power systems, power transmission or energy infrastructure

  • Experience reviewing and understanding technical specifications, engineering documents and customer requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken

It is considered an advantage if you also have:
  • Experience with HVDC, FACTS, STATCOM or similar power systems

  • Experience in technical project execution or customer-facing engineering roles

  • Experience working in international engineering projects

  • Swedish language skills
