01Role Summary
An experienced Workplace Technology Technical Lead is needed for a consulting assignment within a large organisation operating a complex IT environment. The role provides technical leadership for the digital workplace, Microsoft 365, client platforms and mobile devices. The assignment focuses on driving sustainable technical development and improvements that enhance productivity, user experience, stability and security.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, internal IT teams, suppliers and global IT functions. This is a technical leadership and advisory role with significant influence over technical direction, strategic choices and the long-term evolution of workplace technology. The role does not include day-to-day operations or operational delivery; instead, it complements existing suppliers and global governance functions without assuming their delivery, budget or resource responsibilities.
02Key Responsibilities
- Set and drive the technical direction for workplace technology, including developing, anchoring and following up a technical roadmap with dependencies, risks and agreed actions.
- Identify improvement opportunities and recommend priorities to reduce technical debt and complexity while improving productivity, automation and user experience.
- Lead technical analyses and risk assessments for investments and changes, producing recommendations and reviewing decision material based on business impact, security, supportability, cost and user value.
- Define requirements for, challenge and follow up supplier and global IT team technical commitments, quality and documentation in collaboration with contract, service and delivery owners.
- Represent business needs and the user perspective in CAB, Global CAB and other relevant decision-making forums.
- Provide technical support during major incidents, problem investigations and complex changes, and recommend sustainable long-term corrective actions.
- Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge transfer and internal capability development, working with ITSM stakeholders on lifecycle management.
- Act as a technical advisor to internal IT functions and relevant service and decision owners.
- Make technical decisions within defined frameworks and delegated authority, clearly communicating recommendations, risks, alternatives and required decision conditions.
- Recommend additional analysis, conditions, postponement or escalation when decision material or risk management is insufficient.
03Technical Stack & Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Intune, endpoint management, Windows client platforms and mobile device management.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and the interaction between productivity, collaboration, endpoint and security capabilities.
- Experience with technical governance, architecture principles, standardisation and lifecycle management.
- Experience with established IT service management processes, including incident, problem and change management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 capabilities for security, collaboration and information management.
- Experience with automation, analytics and proactive monitoring within the endpoint and digital workplace domain.
- Exposure to licence optimisation, cost management, service follow-up, change management and user adoption.
04Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate has several years of experience in technical leadership within digital workplace technology, client management or Microsoft 365 in a complex organisation. You should have experience of supplier governance, requirements management and follow-up of external and global deliveries, as well as the ability to translate business requirements into sustainable, secure and manageable technical solutions.
Experience from large, distributed or global organisations with substantial user populations and complex dependencies is required. A relevant Microsoft certification, or equivalent documented competence, is advantageous. The role requires an analytical and structured approach, the ability to prioritise complex dependencies and confidence in advising and guiding technical decisions without formal personnel responsibility.
05Location
This is a consulting assignment for a large organisation with a complex and potentially global IT environment. Professional fluency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, is required.
