01Our Mission For You

Help us build an in-house accounting function from the ground up. trawa is bringing its bookkeeping in-house, and you'll be one of the people who makes that work: clean books, on time, every month.

trawa enables mid-sized companies to access green, intelligent energy. We're a hyper-growth energy-tech company with strong team growth, backed by Balderton Capital, Speedinvest and Headline. Our business model sits at the intersection of energy, tech, and finance, which makes our accounting more complex and more interesting than a typical start-up ledger.

You'll start hands-on with day-to-day accounting and keep the books clean as volumes grow. At the same time, you'll spot the manual steps in your work and get room to automate them. You'll also be part of our ERP rollout. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own their area, not just process it.

02Accounts Payable

• Process, check, and post incoming invoices from Moss into DATEV, including correct VAT treatment

• Handle expenses and credit card bookings

• Maintain vendor master data and keep supplier accounts reconciled

• Prepare payment runs

03Month-End Support

• Reconcile bank transactions

• Prepare accruals and reconciliations for your areas

• Support the monthly close and year-end, working with our auditors

• Keep documentation GoBD-compliant and audit-ready

• Partner with Ops, Procurement and budget owners to resolve invoice and cost questions

04Build & Improve

• Spot manual steps in your processes and automate them

• Contribute to our ERP rollout

05Must-haves

• 2 to 4 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, ideally in accounts payable

• Comfortable when processes don't exist yet. You help create them instead of waiting for them

• Solid understanding of German GAAP (HGB) and VAT basics

• Precise and fast. You care about getting it right and getting it done

• Analytical and confident in Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliations

• Fluent in English

06Nice-to-haves

• German is a strong plus (B1 or better): most of our vendor invoices and much of our supplier communication are in German

• Experience in a fast-growing company (start-up or scale-up), or at a tax firm serving start-up clients

• Hands-on with DATEV Rechnungswesen and DATEV Unternehmen online (DUO)

• Training as Steuerfachangestellte/r or Kaufmann/-frau

• Experience with Moss or similar spend management tools

• Automation experience or strong tech curiosity: you've built workflows with n8n, Zapier, or Make, or used Claude Code or similar AI tools

07Month 1: Learn

• Understand our business model, our accounting setup, and our tools (Moss, DATEV). Take over your first recurring bookings.

08Month 2: Own

• Run accounts payable and bank postings independently. Support your first month-end close.

09Month 3: Improve

• Deliver your areas on time each month. Propose and ship your first automation or process improvement.

10The Team

You'll join a fast-growing Finance team of around ten people across Accounting, Billing, Collections, FP&A, Treasury, and Strategic Finance. You'll work closely with colleagues across these areas and see how your bookings flow into cash and planning. You'll also work cross-functionally with Business Operations, Energy, and other departments.
