Job description

About the role

Full text from the employer, as published on Arbeitnow, arranged into sections. Nothing added or removed.

UFORCE exists to make aggression unaffordable.

Founded in Ukraine and headquartered in London, UFORCE is a defence-technology company with operations across Europe, the United States and Asia.

UFORCE builds uncrewed vessels, ground robotics and aircraft, autonomy software, and the command-and-control layer that operates them together. Each platform is deployable on its own, and stronger as part of the system. Its product lines include the MAGURA family of uncrewed surface vessels, the NEMESIS family of strike platforms, the LIUT family of ground robotic platforms, and counter-UAS systems.

As the Art Director you will set the visual standard for the company's materials and produce them: product and capability collateral, presentations, exhibition and event graphics, digital and social assets, and the images that explain the systems themselves.

This is a role for someone who both directs and who is hands on. It spans print, digital, environmental and presentation design rather than specialising in one, and it serves the whole company - sales, government relations, recruitment and the executive team, not marketing alone.

It is also where visual consistency is held. External agencies, photographers, 3D artists and film-makers deliver into the UFORCE brand; the Art Director sets what they work to and judges what comes back. The standard is that everything the company puts in front of a customer reads as though it came from one place.

01What you will do

  • Design the materials the company sells and speaks with: capability collateral, specification sheets, presentations, launch assets, digital and social graphics.

  • Help evolve the UFORCE visual system - typography, colour, layout, iconography and the treatment of platform imagery - and keep it documented well enough that others can work to it.

  • Turn technical material - system architectures, concepts of operation, platform diagrams - into images a non-specialist can understand.

  • Design exhibition and event graphics, from stand panels to printed handouts.

  • Art-direct photography, film and 3D work, on location and in review, so that commissioned material comes back usable and on-brand.

  • Active use of AI tools in how work is run and delivered, and an appetite to commission or build workflows that do not yet exist rather than wait for them.

  • Direct localisation of work across the company's markets.

  • Apply the company's security and export-control requirements to visual material, and route imagery of platforms, facilities and personnel for clearance before release.

02Required Skills

  • Substantial experience as a Graphic designer or art director, in-house or in an agency, with a portfolio showing both range and finished craft across print, digital and environmental work.

  • Command of typography, hierarchy and composition, and a body of work that holds to a consistent system rather than a collection of one-off styles.

  • The ability to art-direct others - photographers, film-makers, illustrators, 3D artists - from written brief through review to delivery.

  • Deep fluency in Figma, the company's primary design environment: components, variants and shared libraries, not frames alone. Working knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator for print and large-format work.

  • Willingness to master Google Slides. Presentations are a primary sales instrument.

  • Experience making complex or technical subject matter legible, in any field - engineering, science, medicine, infrastructure or defence.

  • Eligibility to gain UK security clearance

03Nice to Have

  • Experience designing for defence, dual-use or engineering-led products

  • Technical illustration, diagramming or 3D

  • Motion design or video editing

The nature of combat has changed.

Tomorrow’s battlefield success depends on autonomy, speed, and adaptability.

And UFORCE is ready.
