At Handheld R&D Product Design, we shape the next generation of leaf blowers, trimmers, brushcutters, hedge trimmers, and pole products used by professionals and consumers worldwide.

From new technologies and product development to continuous improvements of our existing portfolio, we work across the entire product lifecycle. Here, you will join a collaborative and hands-on R&D environment with access to modern prototyping facilities and laboratories, working closely with colleagues across R&D, manufacturing, verification, and other key functions.

01Role Description

As Platform & Technical Lead, you will play a key role in developing robust, competitive products with a strong focus on quality, performance, and cost efficiency.

You will lead and coordinate technical activities and cross-functional projects, ranging from new technologies and products to improvements of existing platforms. With a broad perspective on both technology and business, you will help turn requirements and ideas into effective solutions. Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional development and improvement projects.
  • Drive technical and architectural decisions based on product, market, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Manage requirements, technical risks, and key technical decisions throughout development.
  • Follow up project progress and results from both technical and financial perspectives.
  • Develop platform strategies and initiate and prioritize activities to achieve agreed targets.
  • Collaborate closely with specialists within materials, verification, prototyping, CAE, operations, and external partners.

02Your profile

You are structured and able to prioritize and drive your work towards defined objectives. With a collaborative and pragmatic mindset, you enjoy solving problems together with others and sharing knowledge. You are curious, take initiative, and are motivated by continuous learning and development.

You may already be an experienced Technical Project Manager or be ready to take the next step into a broader technical leadership role. What matters most is that you bring a strong technical foundation, the ability to create structure, and the motivation to drive development together with others. We believe you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Experience in, or a strong interest in developing further within, technical project leadership.
  • Fluency in both English and Swedish.

03Location

Our team is based in Huskvarna, where we strongly believe in the value of working closely together. Some flexibility is possible, but we aim for on‑site presence since collaboration is at the core of how we work.
