01The Company You’ll Join

Carta is the connected platform and AI-native ecosystem for private capital. Built to replace fragmented tools with a single system of record, Carta brings together the software, services, and legal infrastructure that founders use to manage equity, fund managers use to run administration and reporting, and legal teams use to close transactions. Trusted by 55,000 companies and 1.8M+ equity holders in 160+ countries, and 10,000 funds and SPVs representing $250B+ in assets under management, Carta is transforming how private capital operates. Recognized by Fortune, Forbes, Fast Company, Inc. and Great Places to Work.

02The Team You'll Work With

You'll be joining our Carta Law team, specifically within the Contracts - APAC function. Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. Our Contracts team manages the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for clients, from first review through to execution.

Reporting to a Supervising Lawyer in the region, you'll work alongside fellow paralegals and lawyers and embedded AI agents. This team delivers high volumes of pre-M&A contract work at speed, supported by AI-backed tools including Carta's proprietary platform, Ava.

03The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a Paralegal in the Contracts team, you'll work to:

  • Keep contracts moving. Own the prompt intake and first-round markup of investment-related NDAs and related documents, ensuring nothing sits in a queue longer than it should and tight client turnaround times are consistently met
  • Make the process more effective. Support Carta's UK lawyers with first-round drafting and ad hoc legal work, handling the volume so attorneys can focus on the complexity
  • Build workflows clients can rely on. Set up and coordinate client workflows, manage document portals, and drive contracts through to execution, giving clients a seamless, professional experience at every step.
  • Hold the quality bar. Deliver crisp, commercially sound contract support that reflects Carta's reputation for precision, balancing speed with the attention to detail that private capital clients expect

04About You

  • Experienced in transactional legal work. You have 2+ years of experience recommended working within a transactional or corporate practice group, or an in-house commercial legal team, with hands-on exposure to commercial contracts and investment-related NDA drafting.
  • Fast and precise under pressure. You thrive in high-volume, deadline-driven environments, you can context-switch between competing demands without letting quality slip.
  • Commercially and legally grounded. You have a strong grasp of relevant legal concepts and the commercial pragmatism to apply them, you know when to flag something and when to just get it done.
  • A clear communicator. Your written and verbal communication is crisp and concise, clients and colleagues get what they need from you without having to ask twice.
  • A self-starter with a builder's mindset. You take ownership, spot inefficiencies, and look for ways to improve how the team operates.
  • Familiar with private markets. Exposure to private capital, fund structures, or investor onboarding workflows is a strong plus.

05Desirable requirements

  • Tech-forward. You're proficient with AI-backed contract review tools like Carta Ava, CLM/e-signature systems, and look for ways to improve them.
  • Language capability. Able to review and negotiate in Japanese, Korean or Mandarin

At Carta, you're not just an employee. You're a builder who is creating infrastructure that accelerates innovation and empowers more ownership. Cartans are helpful, relentless, unconventional and kind; representing Carta's Identity Traits. They work collaboratively and cross functionally to challenge the status quo; working towards a common goal of creating more owners in the private markets.
