Electric Meter Reader & Installer

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards). BB-2801-00: Must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Examples of qualifying experience include: Work experience as an Electric Meter Reader and Installer where duties included installing, disconnecting and reading metering equipment in residential, commercial and industrial applications; performing inspection of service entrance equipment for residential, commercial and industrial applications; programming and installing AMR transmitters in meters of all voltage and classes; performing functional testing on metering equipment.

01WORKING CONDITIONS

Fieldwork is required during all seasons and the employee will be exposed to temperatures ranging from about 35 degrees F to 120 degrees F and occasional windy and dusty conditions. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur in the same location within 90 days from the closing date.
