About the role

Salona Consulting is a Swiss-based consultancy specialising in Croatian citizenship by descent and Croatian heritage services, supporting clients around the world in reconnecting with Croatia.

We are now looking for a creative and proactive Founder Brand & Communications Intern to work closely with our Founder & CEO and help develop her personal brand as an entrepreneur, Croatian citizenship and heritage consultant, and voice within the global Croatian community.

This is not a traditional corporate marketing internship.

You will work directly with the founder, turning real experiences, expertise, opinions and everyday moments of building a growing international company into thoughtful and engaging content.

01Practical information

Position: Founder Brand & Communications Intern Workload: 60% Duration: 6 months Location: Lucerne, Switzerland Working model: office-based Start date: December 1st, 2026 or by agreement

02What you will do

You will help develop and execute the founder's personal brand across platforms including LinkedIn and Instagram, with opportunities to explore additional formats and channels.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing content ideas based on the founder's expertise, experiences and day-to-day work
  • Planning and maintaining a personal-brand content calendar
  • Drafting LinkedIn posts, Instagram captions and other short-form content
  • Filming and editing short-form videos, behind-the-scenes content and interviews
  • Identifying interesting moments within the company that can become stories or content
  • Researching relevant topics around Croatian citizenship, heritage, diaspora, entrepreneurship and building a business in Switzerland
  • Following conversations and trends within Croatian and diaspora communities and identifying opportunities for the founder to contribute
  • Helping develop recurring content formats and series
  • Supporting photography and video content during company activities, events and occasional travel
  • Monitoring content performance and learning what resonates with the audience

03PR, partnerships & opportunities

Personal branding is more than posting on social media.

You will also help us proactively identify opportunities to expand the founder's reach and network, including:

  • Podcasts, interviews and media opportunities
  • Conferences, panels and speaking opportunities
  • Croatian diaspora organisations and institutions
  • Universities, cultural organisations and professional networks
  • Relevant creators, entrepreneurs and community leaders
  • Potential collaborations and partnerships involving the founder and/or Salona Consulting

You may also support initial outreach and help coordinate collaborations once opportunities are identified.

04Who we are looking for

You might be studying or have recently graduated in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, PR, Media, International Relations, Business or a related field.

More importantly, you are someone who:

  • Has a strong instinct for storytelling
  • Understands social media beyond simply "posting"
  • Writes very well in English
  • Is comfortable filming and editing simple, high-quality social content
  • Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe tools or similar is a plus
  • Is curious and enjoys researching people, organisations and opportunities
  • Can take an idea and turn it into something meaningful
  • Is organised and able to manage several small projects simultaneously
  • Has a good visual eye and attention to detail
  • Is comfortable working closely with a founder and receiving direct feedback
  • Understands the difference between building credibility and chasing followers

Knowledge of Croatia, Croatian culture or diaspora communities is a strong advantage, but not a requirement.

Knowledge of Croatian, Portuguese or Spanish is an advantage.

05What makes this internship different

You won't be managing the social media account of a fictional brand from behind a desk.

You will have direct access to the person whose brand you are helping to build.

You will see how an international company is run from the inside, participate in real conversations and projects, and learn how expertise, entrepreneurship and personal storytelling can be turned into a credible public presence.

There is already a marketing team working on the Salona Consulting brand. Your focus will primarily be the founder herself, her expertise, story, ideas, network and public presence, while collaborating with the wider marketing team when the two brands intersect.

You will have significant creative freedom and the opportunity to build a portfolio of real published work during the internship.

06How to apply

Please send us:

  • Your CV
  • A short introduction about yourself
  • Links or examples of any content you have created (personal projects count)
  • Your social media profiles, if you are comfortable sharing them

And instead of a traditional cover letter, answer this question:

If you were responsible for building the personal brand of Salona Consulting's founder for the next six months, what are three pieces of content you would create first, and why?

We care much more about your ideas, curiosity and ability to tell a story than about having a perfect CV.
