Job description

About the role

01What is Finary?

We are on a mission to give power back to investors. Great financial guidance has always existed, it just came with a minimum net worth. We're changing that by building the AI-powered one-stop shop for investing, where you can track your assets, manage your budget, invest, and learn. One simple, ambitious idea drives us: put a private banker in everyone's pocket.

Mounir launched Finary in 2021, and more than 1,000,000 people now trust us with their financial lives. We ship cutting-edge products with touches of delight, and we care deeply about experience, performance, and ease of use.

02Why now?

A new generation of investors is emerging: ambitious, involved, done with taboos around money. We see a world where investing empowers everybody to live the life they've always dreamt of. To fuel that, we raised €40M from Hedosophia, Y Combinator, and Speedinvest, alongside founders and operators like Steve Anavi & Alexandre Prot (Qonto), Matthieu Rouif (Photoroom), Eric Demuth (Bitpanda), Axel Weber (former UBS Chairman), and Harsh Sinha (CTO at Wise).

In July 2026, the AMF granted us our MiCA license, on top of our Investment Firm license: one of the very few French platforms holding both, offering stocks, ETFs and crypto on a single regulated platform, right as Europe consolidates around licensed players. There's never been a more exciting time to join.

03What we offer

We're 70 builders who genuinely love what they do: real ownership from day one, tier-1 salary and equity, offices in the heart of Paris with hybrid remote, and quarterly gatherings we actually look forward to.

We hire A-players who are as kind as they are demanding, people whose ideas transform not just our product but the way we work and think. Our culture is direct, transparent, and built on radical candor: we challenge each other openly, then commit. And we don't hedge on AI. It's the single most important skill of the next decade and a real bar here. Everyone at Finary has rebuilt how they work around it. If that's already second nature to you, you'll be surrounded by people pushing that frontier every day.

Read more about our values here (finarywealth.notion.site).

04The opportunity

More than 1M people track and grow their wealth with Finary. In 2021, when a simple registration was enough to offer crypto in France, we chose to build fully regulated. Today Finary is a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA, an investment firm, a payment institution and an insurance broker. Very few European platforms hold that combination.

Our compliance team is organised by role, not by product: compliance officer, AML, senior advisory, and now control. Each role covers every licence. You'll be the one who checks that what we say we do is what we actually do.

05What you'll do

  • Execute the permanent control plan: about 40 controls a year, 3 to 5 days each, across all four licences.

  • Design each test and run it yourself: population, sampling, test steps, evidence.

  • Write findings and recommendations based on evidence, and review them with the teams concerned, taking their remarks into account.

  • Improve the control plan: keep regulatory references up to date, raise the quality of each control, and run spot controls, validated by the Head of Compliance, when the compliance team detects a risk to prioritise.

  • Follow every recommendation until it is closed: re-test, and escalate what is overdue.

  • Automate as much as possible: with data and AI tools, from testing full populations to keeping the control library current, so your time goes to judgement.

  • Control only, by design: no operational tasks. Your variable pay depends only on the quality of your controls and how much of the plan is executed.

06What we're looking for

  • You've spent 6+ years in permanent control, regulatory consulting or inspection in financial services, and you executed the controls yourself.

  • Your working papers have been through a regulator inspection or a periodic control (internal audit).

  • You've tested controls in at least two types of licensed institution: crypto-asset service provider, investment firm, payment or e-money institution, insurance intermediary. Investment firm experience is not required.

  • You test with data and AI tools, and you've already automated parts of your control work. This is a must, not a plus.

  • You base findings on evidence, and you take the business's remarks into account when reviewing them.

  • You plan and deliver on your own, following the control plan and risk map: there is no control framework team around you yet.

  • Native-level French and professional English.

This role is not for you if you'd rather run operations, you need a GRC tool and a team before you can start, or you see controls as boxes to tick.

You don't tick every box? Apply anyway if you've done the core of the job: executing controls and getting them closed.

07What we offer

  • 65K to 80K EUR total package (fixed + variable), depending on level, plus BSPCE

  • Reporting to the Head of Compliance, in a team of five

  • Based in Paris: on site at least 2 days a week (3 days remote maximum). Permanent contract (CDI), start in Q1 2027

  • MacBook Pro and every AI subscription you need

  • Health coverage with Alan, and a learning budget

08How we work

  • Regulated by choice: we chose the licences years before they became mandatory

  • English is our operating language; your regulatory work will be in French

  • Our process: screen with our talent team (45 min), take-home case (about 3h), case debrief with the Head of Compliance, team meeting, founder meeting. About three weeks end to end.

09Interviews

Interviews with French-speaking candidates are held in French. As an international company, we expect a working level of English, which we test during the screening call.

Compensation: €65K, €80K • Offers Equity
