Job description: Join our Team01About the Opportunity
We are looking for an hardware designer to join the team developing RAN compute products. This broad digital hardware development role focuses on timing, clock distribution and synchronization across the board and system, and is suited to someone with around two years of relevant experience.
You will contribute throughout the hardware development lifecycle: from interpreting requirements and preparing design specifications to integrating components, simulation, debugging, verification and validation. You will work closely with hardware, embedded software and system engineering colleagues. You do not need to arrive with deep telecom synchronization expertise; product-specific knowledge can be developed on the job.
02What you will do
• Contribute to the design and development of digital hardware for RAN compute products. • Help translate product and system requirements into hardware designs and specifications. • Integrate digital components and interfaces, considering how timing and synchronization work across the system and its external interfaces. • Support clock distribution and timing functions, which may involve clock generators, PLLs, oscillators and related components. • Simulate, verify and validate hardware designs, and help develop test procedures. • Support board bring-up, laboratory measurements and hardware debugging. • Investigate issues such as clock stability, jitter and synchronization, using appropriate measurement and analysis methods. • Collaborate with hardware, embedded software and system engineering teams, and take part in design reviews and root-cause analysis. • Document design decisions, test methods and verification results, and contribute to product quality, performance and reliability.
03Skills you bring
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering or a related discipline. • Around two years of experience in digital hardware design, electronics development or hardware verification. Digital design experience is an advantage. • A good foundation in digital circuits and synchronous design, and an interest in timing, clocking and synchronization. • Experience debugging hardware and using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes or logic analyzers. • Familiarity with schematics, component datasheets and hardware interfaces. • An analytical, structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to learn new technical concepts. • Good communication and collaboration skills, and an interest in working across engineering disciplines.
Experience with simulation, hardware design tools or scripting is beneficial. Knowledge of telecom products or synchronization systems is welcome, but is not essential. We are open to candidates from adjacent electronics industries who can demonstrate relevant design capability and a willingness to learn. A general awareness of system-level trade-offs, including power consumption, is useful; extensive system architecture experience is not expected.
How you work You are curious, hands-on and motivated to understand how hardware behaves in practice. You approach problems methodically, communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with colleagues from different engineering disciplines.
