Job description

About the role

Full text from the employer, as published on Jobicy, arranged into sections. Nothing added or removed.

Infisical is the open source security infrastructure platform that engineers use for secrets management, certificates, and privileged access management. We help developers and organizations securely manage billions of secrets every month including application configuration, database credentials, certificates, and more.

We’ve raised $19M from Y Combinator, Google, and Elad Gil, and our customers include Hugging Face, OpenRouter, LG, and NVIDIA.

Join us on a mission to make security easier for all developers, starting with secrets management. We’re looking to hire exceptional talent to join us in building the open source security infrastructure stack for the AI era.

01About the role

We're looking for an exceptional Senior Engineering Manager to lead 10-12 engineers across our Secrets Management and Certificate Management teams. Secrets Management delivers over 10 billion secrets monthly, while Certificate Management supports PKI, certificate lifecycle automation, and signing release artifacts and binaries. Both products support cloud and self-hosted deployments, including on-premises and air-gapped environments.

You'll be responsible for developing a high-performing engineering team, driving execution across both products, and ensuring our infrastructure remains secure and reliable. You'll work closely with our CTO and Tech Leads, staying deeply technical while empowering engineers to own their work.

You'll be working closely with our CTO and the rest of the engineering team to:

  • Own engineering delivery: Drive execution across both teams, establish clear commitments, manage competing priorities, and ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality work.

  • Hire and develop engineers: Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development. Build a high-performing team and develop strong Tech Leads.

  • Shape engineering priorities: Balance customer needs and product development with investments in security, reliability, and developer velocity.

  • Own reliability and engineering quality: Establish reliability targets and drive improvements in observability, incident response, and operational quality.

  • Stay technically involved: Know when to zoom out and when to dive deep. Review code and technical designs, and work with Tech Leads to guide important architectural decisions and resolve difficult engineering challenges.

  • Work directly with customers: Understand their workflows and technical requirements, and translate those insights into engineering priorities.

  • Improve how the team operates: Establish lightweight processes that keep execution fast, predictable, and accountable.

02Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineers, ideally in developer tooling, infrastructure security, or other high-stakes developer software.

  • A strong track record of building and developing high-performing teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and developing technical leaders.

  • Experience leading multiple engineering workstreams and driving execution through others.

  • Strong hands-on engineering background. You're comfortable reviewing production code and technical designs.

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and sound judgment around system architecture, reliability, and technical tradeoffs.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work directly with customers.

  • A bias toward action, with the ability to make decisions with incomplete information and maintain high standards while moving quickly.

  • Based in the US or Canada (NYC preferred).

03Nice to have

  • Experience working in security infrastructure or developer tools.

  • Experience leading teams developing distributed systems.

  • A track record of using AI tools to increase engineering output while maintaining production security, availability and reliability commitments.

04Team, values & benefits

Our team brings experience from companies like Databricks, AWS, Red Hat, and more. We operate primarily as a remote team, but maintain a strong presence in San Francisco, where we have an office. We also get together in person throughout the year for off-sites, conferences, and team gatherings.

At Infisical, we offer competitive compensation, including both salary and equity options. Additional benefits, such as a lunch stipend and a work setup budget, are available, with more details on our careers page.
