About the role

Full text from the employer, as published on Arbetsförmedlingen (JobTech), arranged into sections. Nothing added or removed.

TECHLA is a Gothenburg-based consulting company working with modern product development across software, embedded systems, cloud and DevOps.

We started TECHLA with a simple idea: to build the kind of consulting company we would want to work for ourselves. We want to build long-term relationships, work with great people and create an environment where both our consultants and our clients can thrive.

We believe in transparency, trust and giving people the freedom and responsibility to grow. Our consultants should feel that they are part of something, have a real influence and are rewarded for the value they create.

At TECHLA, technology matters, but people matter even more. We believe the best results come from skilled people who take ownership, work closely together and genuinely care about what they deliver.

We are big enough to deliver, but small enough to care.

TECHLA is looking for C/C++ developers at different experience levels. You could work on embedded development in automotive, defence or telecom. Depending on the assignment, you might contribute to anything from in-vehicle systems and embedded platforms to radar and communication systems.

01The role

As a consultant at TECHLA, you’ll work in one of our clients development teams or alongside TECHLA colleagues. Depending on the assignment, you may contribute throughout the development lifecycle - from requirements and technical design to implementation, integration, testing and further development.

02Your work may include

  • Developing embedded software in C and C++
  • Working with Linux-based systems or real-time environments
  • Designing systems, implementing software and troubleshooting issues
  • Integrating and verifying software on target hardware
  • Improving development workflows, test automation and CI/CD
  • Collaborating with systems, hardware and test engineers

03What we’re looking for

  • Experience developing software in C and/or C++
  • Experience with embedded development, preferably in Linux or a real-time environment
  • A university degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, applied physics or a related field.
  • An interest in building high-quality, reliable software
  • Good communication and collaboration skills in English

We welcome developers with a few years of experience as well as senior engineers. In more senior roles, you may also take responsibility for technical design, support colleagues and help drive the team’s work forward.

04It’s a plus if you have experience with

Depending on the assignment, any of the following may be valuable:

  • Embedded Linux, Yocto or an RTOS
  • Git, CI/CD and automated testing
  • AUTOSAR, CAN or Ethernet
  • Safety-critical systems and functional safety
  • Radar, telecom or automotive software

05The mindset we’re looking for

For us, being a great engineer is about more than technical skills.

We’re looking for people with a strong consulting mindset, people who understand that great consulting is about creating real value, taking ownership and being someone both the team and the client can rely on.

You’re highly skilled at what you do, but you’re also a doer who cares about quality. You don’t wait for someone else to solve the problem. You take initiative, move things forward and care about delivering work you can genuinely be proud of.

At the same time, you genuinely enjoy working with others. You communicate openly, share knowledge, contribute to a positive team dynamic and believe that the best results are created together.

You take responsibility for the bigger picture, stay solution-oriented and aren’t afraid to go the extra mile when it makes a difference. At the same time, you’re humble, genuine and enjoy working with people who challenge and support each other.

In short, we’re looking for engineers who want to go beyond, technically, professionally and as part of a team.

We’re open to both employment and freelance/subcontractor setups, so whether you’re looking to join TECHLA or take on your next assignment as an independent consultant, we’d love to hear from you.

Feel free to reach out to or submit your application, and we’ll be happy to tell you more about the opportunities.
