How do you build a national vaccine supply chain? Turn complex, novel defence requirements into a workable procurement? Help a council make every pound work harder?
In Efficio’s UK Public Sector practice, you’ll combine analytical thinking with hands-on delivery: working alongside clients to get into the detail and help turn difficult decisions into practical results, tackling challenging questions, and driving value for the taxpayer.
01Get close to the challenge
As a Management Consultant, you’ll own defined workstreams with support from experienced project leaders. Depending on the engagement, you’ll:
- Find the story in the data: Analyse spending, suppliers, and operational challenges to develop practical recommendations clients can act on. Deploy our AI-enabled data solutions to drive efficient decision-making.
- Move from insight to delivery: Develop business cases and commercial strategies, drive procurements and negotiations, ensuring government gets the best value for money from its suppliers.
- Keep things moving: Manage workstream plans, deliverables and client relationships, bringing stakeholders together to resolve challenges and reach decisions.
- Make the team stronger: Support junior colleagues and share knowledge with client teams, helping improvements last beyond the project
Our practice also includes Security Check (SC)-cleared delivery and Developed Vetting (DV)-cleared capability for selected assignments, supporting important government and defence work. We especially welcome applications from individuals with UK security clearance to SC (with eligibility for DV) or DV, though this is not a requirement.
02Build depth while keeping your horizons wide
- Procurement and supply chain are at the heart of our business. You’ll develop your specialism alongside colleagues who understand the discipline, supported by the Efficio Academy, practitioner-led training, and learning on live projects.
- Be part of a business that is growing quickly, and fast becoming a leader in AI procurement solutions
- Build your UK public sector expertise across different organisations and challenges, while retaining opportunities to explore private sector experience.
- You’ll also join a collaborative, inclusive team that values thoughtful questions, fresh perspectives, and people who bring others with them.
03Bring your experience and an appetite to learn
Ideally, you will have experience in consulting, the public sector or a relevant industry role, with strong analytical and communication skills, and practical proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Procurement, supply chain, commercial delivery, or transformation experience is particularly relevant. Familiarity with UK public-sector governance, regulated procurement or business case approvals are also a positive.
We're after individuals with sound judgement, strong relationship-building skills, and the drive to take ownership while continuing to learn.
Flexibility and willingness to travel to client sites is important, though hybrid working is often available.
