Job description

About the role

Full text from the employer, as published on Arbeitnow, arranged into sections. Nothing added or removed.

Our Mission Human time and effort is the rarest thing in the universe. The fact that so many people hate what they do for work is a disaster on so many levels. How many people live quiet lives of misery? How many generational talents do we miss due to circumstance?

Dex’s mission is to close the gap between Talent & Opportunity, we believe that work, and being productive, is part of the human condition, that regardless of AI, human passion, ingenuity and a desire to do things means that work will always exist.

We are building Dex to create a future where technology helps every individual to understand their strengths, interests and unique abilities, and to connect with opportunities where they can thrive, because more people doing things they love leads to a better, happier and more productive world.

We are starting by connecting the world's most ambitious software engineers with the companies that deserve them.

01Why this role is different

The AI startups and scaleups we work with have roles they can’t fill. Not because they haven’t tried, but because they have world-class hiring bars, and it’s genuinely tough.

As a Talent Partner, you own those client relationships end to end. You take a role brief properly, you push back when it doesn’t add up, and you become the person a founder, internal talent partner or hiring manager calls before they’ve even decided to hire. You also own delivery, making sure every client has an amazing experience using Dex, from brief through to signed offer.

We’re an AI-first company, and our talent team is pushing the boundaries of what AI can do in recruitment. You won’t just be using AI tools, you’ll be part of the team working out what great hiring looks like when AI is built into every step.

You’ll also shape the product. You’ll work directly with our product and engineering teams, who are building tools specifically for you. When something isn’t working, whether it’s a match that shouldn’t have reached you or a workflow that slows you down, you raise it with the people who can fix it, and you see it change. Talent Partners are brought in early on anything that touches their workflow, so you help decide what gets built, not just use it.

02What you’ll do

  • Own a portfolio of client relationships end to end: brief, delivery, feedback, and everything after

  • Take role briefs and kick-offs that actually hold up. Scope the role, interrogate the requirements, and tell a client when the role is really two roles, or shouldn’t be hired at all

  • Run the process on the client side: keep feedback fast, keep interviews moving, and keep momentum from breaking

  • Use funnel data to diagnose stalling roles and walk clients through where they’re losing people and why

  • Negotiate and close offers so that neither side feels managed

  • Grow accounts from one search into the whole hiring plan

03You’ll probably have

  • 2+ years in tech or engineering recruitment, either in-house at a startup or scaleup or at a specialist tech agency

  • Hired for roles like backend, infra, ML/AI engineers, researchers or founding engineers, and the ability to hold a credible conversation with a CTO about what a role really needs

  • Strong command of funnel metrics: you know what good conversion looks like at each stage and what to do when it isn’t happening

  • Commercial sharpness and the confidence to push back on senior people early, rather than having the expensive conversation late

  • Curiosity about AI tooling. You’ll be a daily power user of a product that’s being built around you

04Why join now

You’ll be building relationships with some of the best AI startups and scaleups on the planet, helping them hire the roles they care most about. You’ll have experienced talent leaders around you day to day, and a product team building tools for you specifically. This is a team that deeply understands how difficult and how important hiring is.

We’re open on backgrounds. If you have the raw ingredients and have excelled where you are now, we want to hear from you, even if you don’t tick every box.

05What we offer

  • Above market base salary plus uncapped commission; we're building a world class team and believe pay should match that ambition

  • Significant equity - we want this to be the last job you 'have' to take

  • Full private healthcare & dental - because life happens and we want to support you

  • Fertility benefits & enhanced parental support

  • Gym membership & wellness benefits

  • Claude tokens - lots and lots of Claude tokens

  • Regular socials, offsites and an annual trip

  • MacBook Pro + team kit

  • "Whatever you need" approach to tools and support

06The process

Our hiring process is designed to be transparent and respectful of your time. Here's what you can expect:

  • Talent Screen: Becca (Head of Talent) 30m

  • Hiring Manager Interview: Richard, who heads up Talent Operations at Dex (30-45m)

  • Short Take Home Exercise

  • Task Review (60m)

  • In person interview

    • Culture Fit & Values (45m)

    • Final Interview with Paddy, CEO and Founder at Dex (30m)
