CLEANING SUPERVISOR, HOSTEL

01Stockholm, Sweden

We are looking for a hands-on Cleaning Supervisor to join our growing hostel group in central Stockholm. This role is ideal for someone with strong cleaning experience who is organized, responsible and enjoys working with people in an international environment.

Who we are looking for

  • Previous experience in professional cleaning and preferably as a cleaning supervisor or team leader.
  • Strong cleaning skills and a good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Able to communicate confidently in English, both spoken and written.
  • Responsible, organized and attentive to detail.
  • Comfortable supervising and coordinating a small team.
  • Positive, practical and willing to take initiative.
  • EU citizenship or permanent residency/work authorization in an EU country.
  • Experience in hospitality, hostels or hotels is a plus, as is education within hospitality or service.

You do not need extensive hospitality or management experience to be considered. If you have strong cleaning experience, the right attitude and are willing to learn, we are happy to train you in the other parts of the role.

The role

As Cleaning Supervisor, you will both work hands-on with cleaning and supervise a small team. Your responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
  • Supervising and coordinating the cleaning team.
  • Checking rooms and common areas to ensure our cleanliness standards are maintained.
  • Planning and distributing daily cleaning tasks.
  • Keeping track of cleaning supplies, linen and other necessities.
  • Helping with hostel reception and guest-related tasks when needed.
  • Reporting maintenance issues and helping solve practical day-to-day problems.
  • Communicating with the hostel management, online reception and remote team.

The position is approximately 40-50 hours per week, working in shifts during the hostel’s operating hours, with 1-2 days off per week. You will have flexibility to organize your schedule according to the needs of the property.

About us

We are a growing hospitality company currently operating three hostels in central Stockholm. Our goal is to build an international hostel group based around our Scandinavian Nomad design concept.

Our organization combines on-site teams with an online team and online reception. For the right person, there are opportunities to grow within the company and take on more responsibility over time.

What we offer

Salary: 27,000 SEK/month gross

Relocation: Flight to Stockholm included

Accommodation: Affordable staff accommodation available at the hostel

Vacation: One month paid vacation per year

You will work in a friendly, international environment, meet people from around the world and have the opportunity to develop your English, hospitality and leadership skills while experiencing life in Stockholm.
