Job description

About the role

Full text from the employer, as published on Arbetsförmedlingen (JobTech), arranged into sections. Nothing added or removed.

01About the role

Victoria 3 is our grand strategy game about building a society through the 19th and early 20th centuries, from its economy and trade to its politics and the lives of its people. Our players debate tariffs, trade routes and voting reform with a passion few genres see, and we want someone who enjoys being in the middle of those conversations.

As Community Manager for Victoria 3, you are the voice of the game in the community and the voice of our players inside the team. You take part in discussions on the Paradox Forum and social media, front our streams and community activities, and make sure what players tell us reaches the people who make the game.

You work inside the Victoria 3 team at Paradox Development Studio Red, next to the designers, producers and developers who build the game. That puts you close to the decisions and gives you a direct role in shaping where the game goes next.

02What you will do

  • Own the Victoria 3 Community Plan: set targets for reach, engagement and sentiment, and grow a healthy, inclusive community around the game.
  • Run all owned Victoria 3 channels, including the Paradox Forum, X, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, as the voice of the brand.
  • Plan the content calendar and make sure dev diaries, announcements and patch notes go out on time.
  • Write copy for patch notes, campaign pages and other brand communication.
  • Turn community feedback into input the design and development teams can act on, and tell players what we did with it.
  • Measure how your content and campaigns perform, and report on reach, engagement and community sentiment to the team and our partners.
  • Coordinate announcements and campaigns with marketing, PR, partner management and performance marketing.
  • Lead the freelance Community Ambassadors who help you moderate and run the channels.
  • Take part in live streams, events and other community activities as one of the faces of Victoria 3.

03What we are looking for

  • Experience building and nurturing audiences on social media, and creating engaging content for a consumer audience.
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills.
  • Excellent proactive and reactive communication: you can plan a campaign and handle a heated thread with the same calm.
  • A deep understanding of and interest in video game culture and communities.
  • The ability to turn player feedback and channel data into clear conclusions.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

04Nice to have

  • Experience playing Victoria 3 or other Paradox grand strategy games.
  • An interest in history, economics or politics.
  • Basic skills in Photoshop and video editing tools.

05Practical information

  • Scope: Full time and permanent
  • Reports to: Studio Manager, Paradox Development Studio Red
  • Location: Stockholm, Sweden

06Working at Paradox

At Paradox you join a result-driven, high-trust and player-centric culture. Our games and players take center stage, and our first priority is always to add player value. If you thrive on the opportunities this culture brings and know how to handle the challenges that come with it, we encourage you to apply and join our team.
