Job description

About the role

01About Isembard

Isembard is building a network of high-performance factories for critical industries. We combine advanced machine tools, robotics and our own software, MasonOS, to make precision components for aerospace, defence, energy and frontier technology companies, with factories across the UK, US, Germany and France. Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.

02The role

Run operations in Hamburg from order to delivery: dates, throughput and material. We have two machines today and seven by April, plus guild partner factories and suppliers we do not own. You decide which job sits on which machine, what goes outside and what we promise.

Machining, engineering and quality are peer teams: you work with them, not over them. Your area is production control, goods in and goods out, and you report to the Head of Operations. A fit for someone who would rather own a plan than comment on it.

03What you'll own

  • On-time delivery and throughput: sequencing and loading every machine, planned in MasonOS.

  • Setting delivery dates and holding them, including quick-turn work: quote in 12 hours, deliver in 3 weeks.

  • Goods in, goods out and material flow, from bar stock and blanks to shipped parts.

  • Routing work to guild partner factories and qualified suppliers, and holding them to our standard.

  • Weekly reporting on cycle times, utilisation, scrap and on-time delivery, and fixing what it shows.

04What we're looking for

  • Operational leadership in production, at pace, with long lead times and small batches.

  • Scheduling and capacity planning you have done yourself, not delegated.

  • Experience managing suppliers and subcontractors, including escalation.

  • You think in systems: capacity, constraints, sequence and throughput.

  • Fluent German and confident English: the shop floor runs in German, the group in English.

05Nice to have

  • Machining or another cutting process.

  • EN 9100 or ISO 9001.

  • Aerospace, defence or energy.

  • Standing up a new line or a second site.

  • ERP or MES, lean or theory of constraints.

06Why Isembard

  • Own the plan for a factory that is scaling fast.

  • Work on mission-critical aerospace and defence components.

  • Shape processes that our German sites will run on.

  • Competitive salary and equity.

Location: On-site at our Hamburg factory, on the shop floor every day.

Applications in German or English are welcome. Lieber auf Deutsch? Hier bewerben.

Isembard is an equal opportunity employer.
