Job description

About the role

Full text from the employer, as published on Arbeitnow, arranged into sections. Nothing added or removed.

01About Isembard

Isembard is building a network of high-performance factories for critical industries. We combine advanced machine tools, robotics and our own software, MasonOS, to make precision components for aerospace, defence, energy and frontier technology companies, with factories across the UK, US, Germany and France. Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.

02The role

The parts you cut go into aircraft, defence systems, energy infrastructure and robots. This is a hands-on machining role at our Hamburg factory, where you own your work from the program to the finished part rather than handing it down a line.

The factory is still being built, so you will help shape the setup rather than wait for it.

03What you'll do

  • Program, simulate and optimise toolpaths in 3-axis, 5-axis and mill-turn where it applies.

  • Set up, prove out and run jobs to aerospace and defence standards.

  • Own cycle time and machine utilisation.

  • Choose fixturing, tooling and cutting parameters for aluminium, steels, titanium and Inconel.

  • Take new parts from drawing to repeatable production, with DFM feedback for the customer.

04What we're looking for

  • Strong CAM programming in Fusion, Hypermill, Mastercam or equivalent.

  • A record of holding tolerances of ±0.01 mm or tighter.

  • Production experience setting and running high-end machines such as Hermle, DMG Mori or Mazak.

  • A solid understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling strategy and workholding.

  • Confident reading of complex drawings and GD&T.

05Nice to have

  • Aerospace, defence or other high-specification experience.

  • 5-axis simultaneous machining.

  • Probing, automation or pallet systems.

  • EN 9100, AS9100 or ISO 9001 familiarity.

  • Some English, for working with our UK and US teams.

06Why Isembard

  • Work on mission-critical aerospace and defence components on advanced machine tools.

  • Influence the programming standards used across our sites.

  • Join early and help build our German factory.

  • Competitive salary and equity.

Location: On-site at our Hamburg factory.

Applications in German or English are welcome. Lieber auf Deutsch? Hier bewerben.
