Job description

About the role

Full text from the employer, as published on Arbeitnow, arranged into sections. Nothing added or removed.

We are looking for a Robotics Engineering Intern to get robots to build control cabinets they have never seen before. You will work with our robotics engineers and see your code run on real robots in our production.

Our robots run on our own factory operating system and adapt to each new cabinet using digital twins and 3D perception. Current projects include DIN rail assembly and wiring.

Duration: 6 months; Start: flexible

01Tasks

  • Build robot applications that take over real production steps, such as DIN rail assembly and wiring.

  • Develop robot skills to pick, place and mount components and handle flexible wires.

  • Implement 3D perception, so robots find components, terminals and wires on their own.

  • Generate robot jobs from our digital twin for every new cabinet automatically.

  • Test and improve our robot applications on our cobots, together with our robotics engineers and electricians.

02Requirements

  • You are studying robotics, mechatronics, computer science or something similar at a top university with strong grades.

  • First hands-on experience with robot arms, ideally with cobots and ROS.

  • Interest in manipulation, motion planning and 3D perception.

  • Get things done mentality: prioritising results over process.

  • Humble, low ego, not afraid to get your hands dirty.

  • You build fast and test on real hardware, iterating constantly.

  • Fluent in English, German is a plus.

03Benefits

  • Scaling from 0 to 1: you shape our robotics technology, from first prototypes to solutions running in our production.

  • Work as a full team member of an interdisciplinary team of top performers that will both support and challenge your growth.

  • Lunch allowance, a subsidized sports membership and modern tech.

  • A new office in Garching, right on top of our own production floor.

Vetaion is building a fully automated production facility for control cabinets in Munich. We use digital twins and robotics to automate the manufacturing process, orchestrated by VetaionOS, our own operating system for the factory.

Our mission is to strengthen Germany as a leading industrial hub. Join our team and our mission, let's reinvent the future of production together!
