Job Purpose

A World leader in air cargo. We possess a geographical advantage that enables us to reach over 140 destinations across 6 continents. We are able to cater to two-thirds of the world’s population in just 8 hours and serve major international trade regions quickly and efficiently. Our SkyCargo group works in partnership to facilitate global trade and connect customers with their destinations. We have a young, efficient, wide-bodied fleet, with ample capacity to transport cargo through our state-of-the-art, multi-airport hub in Dubai and adapt to our customers ever-changing needs.

The Freighter Scheduling Manager will schedule both short term and long term to optimise aircraft utilisation while taking into consideration commercial requirements, slot constraints at Level 2 and 3 airports, maintenance, crewing requirements and other factors that impact freighter operations. Devise annual operating plans for the freighter network ensuring optimal commercial returns, quality standards and capacity utilization at minimal cost, thereby optimizing profitability of the freighter operations.

01In this role, you will

  • Devise annual operating plans for the freighter fleet taking into consideration current freighter capacity and future capacity increases so that maximum utilization and thereby optimal profitability of freighter operations are realized. Communicate the operating plan to concerned internal departments in a timely manner.
  • Manage slot constraints at key airports and ensure historic slots are maintained so that maximum market opportunities are realized while ensuring aircraft utilization levels and operational efficiencies are not compromised. Secure the most desired slots at airports so that commercial advantage is maintained.
  • Develop a freighter hub at DWC airport, taking into consideration current historic slots and night curfews at outstation locations. The hub should be such that the most optimal and customer oriented transit times are provided for East to West traffic. The hub development should consider infrastructure limitations at DWC airport and be scalable to induct future fleet additions.
  • Plan for adequate provisions in the current and future operating plans, to permit major engineering and maintenance checks (A and C Checks) on the aircraft at DXB airport, without any adverse impact on schedule integrity. This must consider EK?s own operations, as well as, out-station based maintenance requirements of wet lease providers.
  • Ensure all freighter specific requirements are incorporated into the AirVision Sabre Scheduling system by liaising with Manager Cargo Scheduling and Planning and IT so that optimal efficiencies are achieved through the scheduling and slot management systems.
  • Integrate the freighter schedule planning system to generate SSIM files which can be automated with other key systems such as SkyChain, CORE, LIDO, POWER, RPS and other systems being developed so that freighter operating plans are quickly and effectively implemented into these systems. Work with IT and other sections/departments to ensure operating plan related systems are developed and implemented in an efficient manner including changes to plans. Continuously monitor and enhance automated freighter schedule dissemination to other internal systems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external departments/organisations to ensure that necessary operating permits and approvals are obtained and/or renewed for scheduled and ad-hoc freight operations, disseminating the information to internal and external departments to facilitate operation of the requisite flights.
  • Liaise with Crewing department to ensure all crew related complexities are analysed for cost effective solutions and ensure scheduled and ad-hoc flights are adequately crewed so flight schedule integrity is maintained.
  • Ensure a detailed cost and revenue analysis is conducted for each and every schedule diversion and/or new rotations to ensure ideal P&L is derived to add to the freighter profitability.
