You will lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing team of Sales Directors while simultaneously acting as an active "player" managing a high-value pipeline, farming existing landmark accounts, and hunting for new strategic opportunities across the UK Government, Security, and Defence sectors.
03What you’ll be doing
Your role will be a dynamic blend of team leadership, strategic direction, and active enterprise selling (Player/Manager).
Strategic GTM Leadership: Work closely with our VP for Public Sector Sales, EMEA, Regional Vice-President, and Solution Owners to define and execute the UK go-to-market plan and sales strategy.
Deal Execution (“Player”): Personally lead complex, strategic, high-value opportunities across UK Central Government, National Security, and Defence.
Consultative Selling: Build and nurture a diverse, multi-stage pipeline of opportunities through a consultative, land-and-expand approach.
Performance and Accountability: Set a high bar for the team and hold people to it, measuring performance through leading indicators and field observation as well as quota attainment.
Coaching and Talent Development: Coach the team hands-on through live deals, spend time in the field giving meaningful feedback, and build a diverse, high-performing team. Help the team learn from both wins and losses.
Operating Rhythm: Run a disciplined cadence of forecast calls, pipeline reviews, 1:1s and QBRs, each with a clear purpose. Quickly diagnose and fix forecast accuracy and pipeline coverage gaps.
Culture and Leadership: Define high performance in terms of both results and behaviours, create momentum while protecting trust and morale, and act on feedback about your own leadership style.
Collaboration and Alignment: Partner closely with Field Engineering, Marketing, Commercial, Product, and Delivery to ensure seamless customer alignment.
Ecosystem Expansion: Cultivate relationships and drive joint pipeline with key System Integrators, Cloud platform providers, and Consulting organisations.
In office collaboration: In-office collaboration is a core part of how we build and solve problems together, so there will be an expectation to be in the London office or on client site 2-3 days per week.
04What you’ll bring
UK Public Sector Domain Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of UK Central Government operational structures, procurement frameworks, and buying processes.
Established Networks: Genuine, active, and trusted relationships at senior levels within UK Central Government departments. Security and Defence connections are highly desirable.
Proven Player/Manager Track Record: Extensive experience as both an individual enterprise software sales contributor and a leader who has grown, motivated, and managed high-performing sales professionals.
Consultative Enterprise Selling: A strong background in complex, high-value solution selling to government stakeholders, such as AI, Big Data, Entity Resolution (connecting and resolving data to reveal relationships and risk), Fraud, or FinCrime solutions.
Pipeline Champion: A relentless drive to create and manage an active, multi-stage pipeline, using a storytelling-led approach.
Executive Presence: The credibility to challenge targets or decisions respectfully, and the discipline to commit fully once a decision is made.
Leadership Self-Awareness: You actively seek out feedback and act on it.
Security Clearance: You must either hold current SC clearance or be willing and able to achieve it.
