👷🏻‍♀️ What we do 👷🏻‍♀️

At Emidat, we are building the first climate-native product management system for building material manufacturers.

Emidat aims to decarbonise building materials, making up 11% of global GHG emissions. We collect data from physical production processes, generate a digital product passport with verified environmental data and make it usable along the value chain. In short: One solution to assess, design, buy, sell and manage products - with environmental impact at the core.

Embodied carbon is emitted on day zero and can never be reduced later, while global floor area is set to double by 2060. From January 2026, EU regulation (CPR) requires verified environmental data. 430,000 manufacturers will need it, and only about 2,500 have it today. That gap is our market.

What you will work on

01Your mission

Your core mission is to turn LCA methodology into software that works at scale. You own the full chain from methodological question to working software solution and take ownership of the team's most complex methodological and technical challenges. You make sure each new product category, market and verification takes less time and effort, working with high autonomy and high accountability.

As an early senior member of a fast-growing climate-tech company, your career trajectory is entirely in your hands. This role offers unparalleled visibility and growth. You can deepen your expertise as a technical expert in the team, or leverage your domain knowledge to pivot into high-impact roles across Customer Success, Sales, or Product. Exceptional early joiners are primed for future Team Lead and leadership positions.

02In the first 6 months, you will

  • Lead strategic projects: Take full ownership of complex, ambiguous projects such as new markets, program operators or complex product categories. Define requirements, navigate trade-offs, delegate across the team and drive delivery.

  • Shape the product core: Work closely with our software engineers to translate environmental science and ISO/EN standards into clean, scalable software requirements, and propose complete implementation strategies for whole concepts, not individual features.

  • Scale our LCA work: Reduce the time and effort for recurring work such as tool verifications, new product category implementations and matching, through automation, reusable standards and better processes. Turn verifier feedback into requirements that solve the issue for good.

  • Scale tool verifications: Work with program operators and verifiers to establish processes that make tool verifications faster, more predictable and repeatable across markets and product categories.

  • Set the standard: Define what clear requirements and architecturally sound solutions look like, and take ownership of refining our methodologies for PCFs, LCAs and EPDs.

  • Improve how we work: Identify problems others don't see, turn them into actionable proposals, and solve recurring problems at the root instead of case by case.

  • Grow the team: Mentor junior colleagues and give them regular, actionable feedback.

  • Shape the industry: Help establish Emidat as a thought leader in LCA, e.g. by representing us in ECO Platform working groups and in the committees that author PCRs.

What you will bring to this role

03Minimum requirements

  • Extensive LCA expertise: You bring deep expertise and experience conducting Life Cycle Assessments, LCA calculation methodology, PCRs and ecoinvent/matching logic. You showcase ownership of complex, ambiguous methodological or technical challenges.

  • Mastery of standards and regulation: You have comprehensive knowledge of the key LCA / EPD standards and program operator requirements (i.e ISO 14040/14044 and EN 15804+A2). You interpret these standards rigorously, and evaluate sources critically.

  • From methodology to software: You have experience working with automated software solutions for LCA/EPD generation, with proven ability to translate regulatory and methodological logic into technical requirements. You bring a product mindset: you prioritise, scope and communicate requirements clearly.

  • Verification and customer experience: You have created multiple EPDs that were successfully verified and published with a European program operator (e.g. EPD Global, EPD International, IBU). You have worked directly with customers, ideally in a consulting environment, and can represent methodological positions confidently towards customers and verifiers.

  • Leadership and project management: You have a track record of leading large projects end-to-end: scoping, planning, delegating, coaching others and keeping quality high. You manage several projects at the same time and coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders.

  • Language: Business fluent in English (C1+).

04Nice to have’s

  • Education: Bachelors, Masters Degree or PhD in a relevant subject, i.e Sustainable Energy Systems, Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) etc.

  • Languages: Proficiency in German, or any other of the following European languages (French, Italian, Dutch, a Nordic language).

  • Verifier: Qualification as a verifier for EPDs acc. to EN 15804+A2

  • Engineering partnership: Experience completing partnering with software engineers to develop implementation strategies.

  • AI-enabled way of working: You are experienced in leveraging AI tools to accelerate your work, e.g. for research, requirements and documentation.

  • Tool Verifications: You have experience with EPD tool verifications.

  • Industry: Experience working on Construction products, or familiarity with the latest regulatory developments affecting the construction industry (e.g. EU Taxonomy, national and regional regulations) and can assess their impact on methodology and product.
