British American Tobacco Sweden has an exciting opportunity for an HR & Payroll Administrator in Malmö.
Are you an experienced payroll professional who combines strong attention to detail with a passion for compliance, continuous improvement and HR?
Our HR function is currently on an exciting transformation journey, including the development of a new Payroll Operating Model. During the transition period, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant and timely payroll delivery, while also helping us prepare for the future payroll model.
As the model evolves towards payroll outsourcing, the role will gradually shift from hands-on end-to-end payroll processing towards payroll coordination, governance, compliance, controls and employee support, combined with broader HR administration and continuous improvement activities.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to use their strong payroll expertise while developing a broader HR profile and actively contributing to the design of our future ways of working.
Compliance will be the number one priority in everything you deliver. You will be expected to work with a strong control mindset, ensuring that payroll and HR processes are accurate, documented and performed in accordance with applicable legislation, collective agreements, internal policies and company standards.
01Your key responsibilities will include
- Ensure accurate, compliant and timely end-to-end payroll delivery for both white-collar and blue-collar employees during the transition to the future Payroll Operating Model.
- Maintain strong payroll controls, reconciliations and data-quality checks, ensuring compliance with Swedish legislation, collective agreements, internal policies and company standards.
- Coordinate payroll-related activities including pensions, benefits and employee payroll support, ensuring accurate and timely handling.
- Support the transition to the future outsourced payroll model, including process documentation, testing, data validation, handovers and the development of effective payroll coordination and governance.
- Provide high-quality HR administration and employee lifecycle support, while contributing to continuous improvement, standardization and simplification of HR and payroll processes.
- Comply and implement activities in accordance with the rules of laws and regulations relating to environmental protection, safety at work and fire protection, and internal EHS or Sustainability standards and procedures.
02What are we looking for?
- At least five years of hands-on experience working independently with Swedish payroll, with a strong understanding of payroll processes, controls and statutory requirements.
- A strong compliance and control mindset. You are structured, thorough and understand that accuracy, confidentiality and adherence to requirements always come first.
- Good knowledge of Swedish payroll legislation and collective agreements, ideally with experience of both white-collar and blue-collar payroll.
- Experience with payroll and HR systems. Previous experience with Kontek Lön, Kontek HRM and/or SAP SuccessFactors is considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with good technical understanding and the ability to identify root causes and resolve payroll or system-related issues.
- Comfortable working in a changing environment, with the flexibility and curiosity to move from hands-on payroll processing towards payroll coordination, governance and broader HR responsibilities.
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll-related matters clearly and professionally to employees, managers and other stakeholders.
- Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
03What we offer you?
- We offer a market leading annual performance bonus (subject to eligibility)
- Our range of benefits varies by country and includes diverse health plans, initiatives for work-life balance, transportation support, and a flexible holiday plan with additional incentives
