If you're passionate about data, code, and AI, take pride in getting the numbers right, and want to build the data and AI platform behind a fast-growing beauty brand, we'd love to hear from you. Send us your application today!
01About the role
Our client is a Stockholm-based global beauty brand. They develop premium, high-performing products at accessible price points, defined by quality and a Scandinavian aesthetic. Driven by an entrepreneurial and creative culture, they combine modern brand storytelling with operational excellence.
Every decision across their organisation, from which shades to restock to which campaigns to scale or markets to expand into, starts with data. Their modern data platform unifies e-commerce, advertising, and retail metrics, while custom AI assistants empower teams to interact with that data directly.
As a Data & AI Engineer, you will join their Tech team and report directly to the CTO. You will collaborate closely with marketing, finance, and operations to build and run the pipelines, services, and AI tooling powering company-wide analytics. From modelling sales data in Dataform to deploying an MCP server that lets AI assistants query BigQuery, you will ensure stakeholders have access to reliable, documented, and timely figures.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career or with a couple of years of experience who writes solid SQL, values clean and well-tested code, builds with AI daily, and wants ownership of production systems at a rapidly scaling brand.
02Work tasks
You will build and maintain data pipelines, models, and AI-driven services to support business reporting, analytics, and data-informed decisions across the company:
- Build and maintain data models in Dataform and BigQuery (incremental models, assertions, and cost-aware partitioning/clustering).
- Ingest data from source systems (e-commerce, advertising platforms, ERP, and retail partners) into BigQuery with scheduling, alerting, and backfills.
- Write and deploy Python or TypeScript services on Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Scheduler) with proper IAM, secrets management, and logging.
- Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations to translate ambiguous business questions into precise data models and queries.
- Build, deploy, and maintain MCP servers on Cloud Run to connect AI assistants to internal data, applying least-privilege IAM and monitoring.
- Maintain the semantic layer for AI assistants (defining metrics once, writing metadata and catalog documentation, and solving data discrepancies at the source).
- Use coding agents (e.g. Claude Code) as your default development workflow-writing clear task specs, critically reviewing outputs, and shipping tested code via CI/CD.
- Support internal teams in expanding their AI workflows and setting up custom assistants.
03We are looking for
- A university degree (BSc or MSc) in computer science, software engineering, data engineering, information systems or equivalent.
- Up to around two years of experience in data (strong plus) or software engineering, internships, thesis work and serious side projects count.
- Solid SQL, joins, window functions, data grain and incremental models.
- Hands-on coding in Python or TypeScript; you can write, test and debug a small service on your own.
- Exposure to a cloud platform, ideally Google Cloud.
- An AI-native way of working, you use coding agents daily and know when not to trust their output.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to explain what you built, and why, to non-technical colleagues.
- Curiosity, a quick learning curve and comfort in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent Swedish and English.
04It is meritorious if you have
- Production experience with BigQuery, and with Dataform or dbt.
- Experience with dimensional modelling and data quality testing.
- An understanding of containers, service accounts, least-privilege access and basic networking.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail or consumer brands.
- Experience building or integrating LLM-based tooling, MCP, function calling or agents. Side projects count.
05To succeed in the role, your personal skills are
- Stress tolerant
- Goal oriented
- Orderly
- Responsible
- Intellectually curious
