01About the role
You'll join Aira's central data team, working across the entire customer journey, from acquisition and sales to technical design, installation and live heat pump data. Our work has a direct impact on the tools and processes used across Aira.
We're moving from traditional BI towards self-service analytics, where teams can explore data and answer questions themselves. This will allow us to spend less time on ad hoc reporting and more time solving complex problems using statistics, optimisation and machine learning.
The work is varied. One day you might build data models and metrics for self-service analytics, the next you might use machine learning, statistical modelling or thermodynamics to improve how we design and sell our products.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys both sides of that spectrum: strong analytics engineering and quantitative problem solving, combined with a keen business mindset.
02What you’ll be doing
Build and maintain data models and metrics using SQL and dbt.
Work with Product teams to define KPIs, track performance and identify areas for improvement.
Develop the semantic layer that powers self-service analytics across Aira.
Use statistics, experimentation, optimisation and machine learning to improve our products and processes.
Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude in your day-to-day work.
03What you’ll bring to the role
3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data science, machine learning or a similar quantitative role.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
Experience with data transformation and dimensional data modelling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle problems that don't have an obvious solution.
An interest in understanding the business and working closely with Product teams to improve how things work.
04Bonus
A strong quantitative background in mathematics, physics, engineering, statistics or a related field.
Experience developing or deploying machine learning models.
Experience with statistical modelling, experimentation or causal analysis.
Experience working with optimisation problems, physical models or time-series/telemetry data.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as GCP, AWS or Azure.
05What you can expect
Work close to the decisions that shape Aira's customer journey, where your insights can translate directly into changes to our products and processes.
Help move Aira from traditional BI towards self-service analytics, creating more room for advanced modelling and ML.
Work on a broad range of problems spanning analytics engineering, statistics, data science, machine learning and real-world physical systems.
Collaborate closely with Product teams and diverse teams across our international markets.
Gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing scale-up, with a supportive and inclusive culture, and career advancement opportunities.
Develop and grow personally and professionally in an entrepreneurial-minded environment.
Thrive in a dynamic, solution-oriented culture, tackling challenges and driving meaningful solutions that make a positive impact on the world.
06What is in it for you?
Gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing scale-up, with a supportive and inclusive culture, and career advancement opportunities.
Collaborate with diverse teams across international markets and launch products globally.
Develop and grow personally and professionally in an entrepreneurial-minded environment.
