01Your Mission

Be part of aviation history at VÆRIDION, where we’re pioneering the world’s first electric nine-seater aircraft! As an Overall Aircraft Design Working Student (all genders), you will join our Central Engineering team and support across various Overall Aircraft Design activities. This role is a broad role, and you will perform different tasks to support on-going aircraft design and analysis activities. You will be part of our interdisciplinary aircraft design team and contribute directly to the design process of our battery-electric aircraft.

02Your Day-to-Day

  • Support the analysis and comparison of battery-electric aircraft concepts across different configurations and mission profiles.

  • Investigate how technology assumptions and key design parameters influence aircraft performance, energy demand, and overall feasibility.

  • Develop and adapt computational tools to support aircraft sizing, mission analysis, and design trade-off studies.

  • Perform parameter and sensitivity studies to explore design dependencies and identify key technology drivers.

  • Collect, assess, and organise technical data to support consistent modelling assumptions and comparative analyses.

  • Document methods, assumptions, and results, and prepare clear visualisations to discuss findings with the engineering team.

03Your Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree programme in Aerospace Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.

  • Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.

  • Excellent programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB).

  • Experience with aircraft design process, methods and tools. Experience with dedicated tools such as OpenMDAO and Aviary is a strong plus.

  • Readily available knowledge about aircraft.

  • Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented professional with strong ownership, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are an asset, combined with a strong motivation for aviation and electric aircraft technologies.

We recognize that women and other under-represented groups are often overlooked in our industry. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every listed qualification, we still encourage you to apply. Talent and potential can’t always be captured in a checklist.

04Why us?

  • Pension scheme to support your long-term financial security.

  • Work in one of our offices in Munich or Delft. Enjoy the modern Balan Campus in Munich or work close to the innovative Aerospace TU Delft.

  • Boost your professional as well as personal growth executing your own ideas and independent projects.

  • Join our internal social events and retreats (e.g. cooking, game nights, sports).
