Job description

About the role

Full text from the employer, as published on Arbetsförmedlingen (JobTech), arranged into sections. Nothing added or removed.

Do you want to lead procurement for the construction of the largest solar and battery storage projects in the Nordics? We are looking for a skilled procurement professional with a strong commercial foundation and the curiosity to understand technical solutions in depth. You are willing to dig into specifications, ask questions and work closely with engineers and suppliers to make well-informed purchasing decisions in a rapidly evolving industry. Join us and be part of an ambitious team building the energy infrastructure of tomorrow.

What will you do at NYAB?

As our Technical Procurement Manager, you will work at the intersection of long-term sourcing strategy and practical project delivery, leading procurement for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

Your scope will include core components and services such as solar modules, inverters, mounting systems, transformers, batteries, subcontractors and related technical solutions.

In this role, you will:
  • Own and develop the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from early tendering and supplier evaluation to contracting and execution.

  • Lead strategic and commercial negotiations to secure competitive terms, balanced risk positions and strong contractual outcomes.

  • Evaluate supplier offers against technical requirements, cost, quality and delivery needs, working with engineering colleagues to clarify specifications and understand trade-offs.

  • Stay ahead of the market by identifying new technologies, suppliers and system solutions that strengthen our renewable energy projects and make our supply chain more resilient

  • Drive procurement priorities against project requirements, schedules and budgets, and make sure we deliver.

You will act as our internal product owner, digging into specifications, drawings and technical documentation together with the engineering team until you know the product as well as the supplier does.

About you

You are a goal-oriented self-starter with the persistence to follow through and make things happen. You combine sound commercial judgment with technical curiosity and a willingness to work through details, ask questions and understand what you are buying. You remain composed during complex contractual discussions and take ownership of your commitments, combining speed with precision and going the extra mile when it matters. Along the way, you build trust with colleagues, suppliers and partners.

We believe you have:
  • A master’s degree in engineering, preferably within electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or energy systems.

  • At least three years of hands-on experience in large-scale procurement projects with complex technical scopes, ideally in an EPC environment.

  • Experience in end-to-end sourcing, supplier management and commercial or contractual negotiations.

  • Strong cost awareness and the ability to manage priorities within time and budget constraints.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • The willingness to travel internationally to meet suppliers and partners, and to visit project sites in Sweden and abroad.

It is an advantage if you have:
  • Experience in construction, electrical systems, renewable energy or another technically complex project environment.

  • Experience procuring equipment or services for solar parks, BESS or related energy infrastructure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Swedish.
